Metro Boomin used the internet to defend rappers Young Thugg as well as Gunna during their federal RICO indictments. He shared his thoughts on the whole case and how society views Black leaders.

“YSL is not a gang and never been a gang fool,” the 28-year-old wrote on Twitter. “YSL is a registered LLC that has provided countless opportunities and jobs for underprivileged black people, and really all people because that’s how big Thug hearts are .”

He continued in an additional tweet, “I’ve seen first handed thousands of black people and their families lives changed for the better over the past 10 years now #they are trying to cut the head off the snake because #they see how much bigger it gets every year.”

YSL does not belong to a gang. YSL has been a registered LLC since 1999 and has created many opportunities and jobs for people of all backgrounds.

The “Ric Flair” producer continued to discuss the historical implications of Young Thug and Gunna’s arrests.

They get scared every time an icon black leader comes out with such influence, respect and power so they put some bullsh*t charges to stop the movement. Look at American history it’s been a pattern for 100+ years.”

He also expressed disdain for the song lyrics of “Pushin P”, which were used against him by law enforcement, and offered kind words to his frequent collaborators.

” Using song lyrics as a way to indict n*ggas, is a joke and lame. These are the same lyrics that made billions of dollars for these corporations in the last decade. Now that the coin is ….” Metro Boomin declared, I am waiting to see who will step up and use these same resources.

These brothers need support and love right now, not criticisms or jokes.
