Windows and Android are very popular, so naturally, there are a lot of people who use both. Microsoft’s “Phone Link” app integrates your Android phone with your PC, giving you access to your phone’s notifications, text messages, photos, and more–right on your PC.
We’ll start with an Android app. Download the “Link to Windows” app from the Google Play Store on your Android phone or tablet. Select Samsung Galaxy devices already have this app installed.
Open the app and tap “Link Your Phone to PC” to get started.
Next, open the Phone Link app on your Windows 10 PC and click “Get Started.”
On the next screen, select “I have the Link to Windows app already” and click “Pair With QR Code.”
Back On your Android device, tap the “Continue” button on the “Is your QR code ready?” screen. Point the camera at your QR code using the camera.
After it connects, you will need to give the Android app certain permissions. To continue, tap “Continue”.
You will need to give the app permission access to your contacts, make and handle phone calls, access media and send and get text messages. To continue with them all, tap “Allow”.
After granting permissions, you might be asked to allow the app to run in the background so that your computer is always connected. To continue, tap “Continue”.
A pop-up will ask you if the app should run in the background. Select “Allow.”
That’s it for the Android side. Back on your Windows 10 PC, the Phone Link app will have a “Continue” button to click.
The Phone Link app will guide you through the process of setting up certain features. We will show you how. First, tap “See My Notifications.”
To enable this feature to work, you must grant the Link to Windows app permission to view Android notifications. To get started, click “Open Settings on Phone”.
A notification will be displayed on your Android device asking you to open the notification setting. To go there, tap “Open”.

The “Device & App Notifications” settings will open. Make sure you enable notification access by selecting “Link to Windows” in the list.
That’s it! Now your notifications will appear in the “Notifications” sidebar of the Windows app. You can delete a notification from your Android device by clicking on the “X” icon.
The “Messages” tab on your phone will display your text messages automatically, there is no need to set up. Simply type in the text box to reply to a message, or tap “New Message.”
The “Photos” tab doesn’t need any setup. It will display the most recent photos taken with your device.
In the sidebar you can check the battery level on your device, adjust certain settings and control the media playing.
You’re now up and running. Phone Link is an extremely handy app, especially if you spend a lot of time on a Windows 10 PC all day. Now you won’t have to pick up your phone as often.
